Someone’s been busy this week. EA Mobile has updated several of its current games. This doesn’t happen quite often, so let’s savor it.
Madden 11 HD – Vintage Mode 
The new mode is only available for the iPad version of Madden. As EA describes it, it’s a “throwback to retro-style electric football”. And it’s actually pretty neat to play.
Also added was head-to-head multiplayer over local Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
Reckless Racing and Reckless Racing HD
The update is out for both versions. It brings the “The Island’ map from the iPad version to the iPhone, and both versions get a new level called “Frozen Lake”.
Also added were two new characters / cars, Boss, who drives a pink Cadillac car, and Granny who drives a sweet monster truck. Though they both have great power and speed, they come at the cost of difficult handling.
Need For Speed Shift Retina Update
In a surprising move EA updated one of their “old” games for Apple’s latest goodies. The update, apart from improving the game in general, adds retina display support.
And as well, 4.0 multitasking support. All of these updates are FREE if you currently own the game. This is definitely a step in the right direction. Let’s hope the studio keeps it up.
